為一Weiyi Artspace
Weiyi Artspace, the name “為一Weiyi” inspired by ukiyo-e master Hokusai, blends traditional art with modern minimalism. Its identity, from the logo to the Weiyi Art Cafe, reflects a fusion of classic and contemporary design, offering a unique cultural and artistic experience.
Weiyi ArtSpace, inspired by the Ukiyo-e master Hokusai’s signature “Litsu,” translates to "為一 (wei-yi)" in Chinese. This signifies "one who is unique" or "the one and only," reflecting the space's dedication to showcasing singular and exceptional Japanese Ukiyo-e art.

Project Infomation
為一Weiyi ArtSpace, located in Hangzhou, is primarily focused on the collection, display, and research of Ukiyo-e art. It also encompasses other art forms such as ancient Asian art, Japanese Nanga, and folk crafts. The art space is dedicated to offering a relaxed and comfortable art experience, which is achieved through regularly held Ukiyo-e exhibitions, art-themed salons, and the provision of original books for reading.
The brand name “為一(weiyi)" is derived from the art name of Ukiyo-e master Katsushika Hokusai during the Bunsei era. This choice conveys the art space's commitment to creating a professional venue for Ukiyo-e research and exhibition. It aims to provide a platform for art lovers and researchers to exchange and share their passion for art.
